Prerequisites: Each of the following courses: RNSG 1441 or RNSG 1517 Corequisites: RNSG 2460 R W M Integration of previous knowledge and skills related to common adult health needs into the continued development of the professional nurse as a provider of patient-centered care, patient safety advocate, member of the health care team, and member of the profession in caring for adult patients and families with complex medical-surgical health care needs associated with body systems. Emphasis on complex knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework.
Emphasis is on nursing clinical judgment and concepts of pharmacology with emphasis on the actions, interactions, adverse effects, and nursing implications of drug classifications for clients in medical-surgical settings experiencing health problems involving gastrointestinal, endocrine and metabolic, reproductive and sexual, musculoskeletal, eye-ear-nose-throat, and integumentary disorders.
