Acceptance into LVN-ADN program and current Texas LVN license. Corequisites: RNSG 1163 R W M Provides the articulating student the opportunity to examine the role of the professional nurse; application of a systematic problem solving process and critical thinking skills which includes a focus on the adult population; and competency in knowledge, judgment, skill, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. This course lends itself to either a blocked or integrated approach. Additional Fees: $16 Lab Fee, $64 Simulation Fee Measurable Learning Outcomes: Describe the roles of the professional nurse as provider of patient-centered care, patient safety advocate, member of health care team, and member of profession; describe critical thinking in a systematic problem solving process in the application of knowledge to the adult patient; and identify ethical and legal principles in professional nursing practice.
