Associate of Science - Pre-Medicine

AS PMED can lead to university transfer for a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science. AS PMED is also ideal for students interested in pre-medical, dental, pharmacy, or veterinary programs. AS Pre-Med students interested in these bachelor’s degrees must work with an academic advisor to determine transferrable coursework.

Students following this degree plan will be required to pass Computer Competency Exam in order to graduate.

First Semester


Meet with academic advisor or department chair to obtain copy of transfer university degree plan and to determine G.P.A. needed to transfer to desired university.

Semester Credit Hours: 18


Second Semester


Schedule a campus tour with the transfer university.

Semester Credit Hours: 14


Third Semester


Confirm courses for completion of AS degree. Start applying for admission to transfer university and send first official transcript to transfer university.

Semester Credit Hours: 15


Fourth Semester


Apply for graduation for AS PMED. Confirm admission to transfer university, and send final official transcript to transfer university at end of semester.

Semester Credit Hours: 13


Grand Total Hours: 60


 1If you cannot take 15-18 hours in the semester, we recommend you take this course in the summer.

***Important Note: AS PMED students are strongly encouraged to complete the following courses prior to transfer: SPCH 1315  Public Speaking; BIOL 1407  Biology for Science Majors II; and MATH 1442  Elementary Statistical Methods.
