DRAM 1330 - Stagecraft I

3 credit hours. 3 lecture hours. 2 lab hours.
An introduction to the fundamentals of technical theater. Basic techniques of play production including scenery design and construction, make-up, costuming, properties, and lighting.

Measurable Learning Outcomes:
  1. Understand the role of design in dramatic storytelling.
  2. Contribute to and participate in the collaborative process of theatre production.
  3. Meet the incremental deadlines associated with production.
  4. Learn the fundamentals of theatre protocol.
  5. Learn the mechanics and operation of theatrical equipment.
  6. Participate in the basic operation of the theatre, including house, box office, stage management, and general maintenance.
