RNSG 1309 - Introduction to Nursing 3 credit hours. 3 lecture hours. 0 lab hours. Prerequisites: A grade of “C” or higher in each of the following courses: BIOL 2401 , ENGL 1301 , PSYC 2301 . R W M Overview of nursing, and the role of the professional nurse as a provider of care, patient safety advocate, member of the healthcare team, and member of a profession. Topics include knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. Additional Fees: $75 Testing Fee Measurable Learning Outcomes: Identify concepts for the provision of nursing care; describe the roles of the professional nurse in the delivery of comprehensive care; describe the use of a systematic problem-solving process; and utilize critical thinking skills.
