EMSP 1338 - Introduction to Advanced Practice(3:2-2-0) credit hours. Prerequisites: Admission into the AEMT or Paramedic Program Corequisites: EMSPL-1338 Fundamental elements associated with emergency medical services to include preparatory practices, pathophysiology, medication administration, and related topics.

Measurable Learning Outcomes: Describe the roles and responsibilities of advanced EMS personnel within the EMS system; apply concepts of pathophysiology and pharmacology to the assessment and management of emergency patients; administer medications; employ effective communication; interpret medical/legal issues; demonstrate ethical behaviors; and discuss well-being of the paramedic.
