AS BIOL can lead to university transfer for a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Microbiology, or Biology with Teaching Certification in Life Science. AS BIOL is also ideal for students interested in pre-medical, dental, pharmacy, or veterinary programs. AS BIOL students interested in these bachelor’s degrees must work with an academic advisor and/or Biology department chair to determine transferrable coursework.

First Year Fall
Meet with academic advisor or department chair to obtain copy of transfer university degree plan and to determine G.P.A. needed to transfer to desired university.
Semester Credit Hours: 14
First Year Spring
Schedule a campus tour with the transfer university.
2nd 8 Week Classes
- BIOL Elective 3 credit hours.
- Any course from the Creative Arts Core 3 credit hours. (FY) 2
Semester Credit Hours: 13
First Year Summer
Confirm courses for completion of AS degree. Start applying for admission to transfer university and send first official transcript to transfer university.
- Any course from the Social/Behavioral Science Core 3 credit hours. (FY) 2

Semester Credit Hours: 14
Second Year Spring

Apply for graduation for AS Biology. Confirm admission to transfer university, and send final official transcript to transfer university at end of semester.

- Any course from Language, Philosophy, Culture Core 3 credit hours. (FY) 2
Grand Total Hours: 60
1 Must successfully complete the course in order to progress in the AS Biology degree.
2 Meet with an academic advisor or Biology department chair for university specific transfer course.
FOS - Field of Study Course.
FY = Course will be offered on a continuous basis so that a student can take the course in any fall or spring semester.
BH = Courses will meet partial requirements to graduate with Biological Honors.
