RBTC 1451 - Robotics Mechanisms 4 credit hours. 3 lecture hours. 3 lab hours. The application of principles and the calculation of practical problems involving four bar linkages, cams, gears, and gear trains. Topics include vector quantities, angular displacement, motion concepts, velocities, and motions. Additional Fees: $30 lab fee for consumables Measurable Learning Outcomes: Calculate stroke, path, and angular movement of various mechanisms; define and use scalar and vector quantities; solve simple problems involving relative motion, plane motion, plane rotation, angular displacement, and linear displacement; solve simple problems involving angular and linear velocity, instant center of rotation, relative velocity, and rolling and sliding velocity; and explain the various types of gears, gear trains, cams, ball bearings, lead screws, and their applications.
