LMGT 1301 - Radio Frequency Indentifcation - History & Industrial Application 3 credit hours. 2 lecture hours. 2 lab hours. Overview of the radio frequency identification (RFID) system and its utilization in the current logistical industry. Includes an introduction to the value of the RFID system as it relates to traffic management, transportation, inventory management, warehousing, packaging, order processing, and materials handling. Additional Fees: $30 lab fee for consumables Notes: Explain RFID heritage; identify various prototype systems; identify system components and discuss their role in the logistics industry; identify the advantages and disadvantages of wireless technology; and discuss the research findings of implementation failures and successes of the RFID system.
