Prerequisites: Passing Math 1314 with a C or better Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to describe function characteristics including maximum and minimum values, intervals over which a function is increasing or decreasing, restrict domains so that a function is 1 to 1; algebraically determine if a function is even, odd or neither ; calculate the difference quotient for a function; identify and graph multiple transformations of the reciprocal and radical functions; find the domain of composite functions, find algebraic expressions for inverse functions (including even functions requiring domain restrictions); identify functions having complex zeros and calculate those zeros for higher order polynomial functions as radical and rational functions, identify functions having a slant asymptote and derive the equation for the slant asymptote, identify characteristics of exponential functions and use those characteristics to graph more complex functions, solve systems of 3 equations and 3 unknowns without the use of technology including expansion by minors Additional Fees: $40 Lab Fee, $40 Access Fee.
