KINE 1164 - Introduction to Physical Fitness & Wellness 1 credit hours. 1 lecture hours. 2 lab hours. This course will provide an overview of the lifestyle necessary for fitness and health. Students will participate in physical activities and assess their fitness status. Students will be introduced to proper nutrition, weight management, cardiovascular health, flexibility, and strength training.
A fee of $8 is charged for each Health and Physical Education Activity course in which a student is enrolled. (Courses in each activity area must be taken in sequence. Additional Fees: Kinesiology Fee $8.00 and $86.16 Online textbook and access code Measurable Learning Outcomes:
- Describe how the health-related components of physical fitness impact overall health and wellness.
- Analyze the interaction between lifestyle choices and disease.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate a personal fitness program.
- Evaluate the impact of global trends on physical activity and healthy lifestyle practices that can be adopted in response to these trends.
