KINE 1164 - Introduction to Physical Fitness & Wellness 1 credit hours. 1 lecture hours. 2 lab hours. This course will provide an overview of the lifestyle necessary for fitness and health. Students will participate in physical activities and assess their fitness status. Students will be introduced to proper nutrition, weight management, cardiovascular health, flexibility, and strength training.
A fee of $8 is charged for each Health and Physical Education Activity course in which a student is enrolled. (Courses in each activity area must be taken in sequence. Additional Fees: Kinesiology Fee $8.00 and $77.39 Online textbook and access code Measurable Learning Outcomes: Describe how the components of physical fitness impact health and wellness. Explain the influence of personal behaviors and personal responsibilities on the development, treatment, and prevention of hypokinetic diseases, infectious diseases, stress, and addiction. Analyze the relationship between physical activity, inactivity, and nutrition on weight and body composition. Plan, implement, and evaluate a personal fitness program. Develop an appreciation and positive attitude for a healthy lifestyle and the effects of global trends on physical activity.
