Circle of Support: Removing Barriers to Student Success

Temple College has resources to support you beyond academic support. The Circle of Support program is a partnership between Temple College and the Temple community to ensure no student drops out of college because of barriers such as emergency expenses, childcare, transportation, housing and food.  If you need referrals for assistance with non-academic issues can stop by the Circle of Support Resource Center in Room 803 of the Arnold Student Union, call the director at 243-298-8767, or email the director at  circleofsupport@templejc.edu .  You can also request assistance by completing the online form at http://www.templejc.edu/resources/circle-of-support/

Mental Health Counseling

Mental health is an important aspect of your wellness. Counseling services are available through external partners to all Temple College students.  Services offered include stress management, test anxiety, depression, anxiety, mental wellness/self-care.  Please see https://www.templejc.edu/resources/mental-health-counseling/  for a list of mental health resources.

Student Accommodations

Temple College abides by the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which states: “No otherwise qualified person shall, on the basis of a disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination under any academic or other postsecondary education aid, benefits, or services.” If you have a documented disability that may impact your performance and for which you may require accommodations, you must register with and provide documentation of your disability to the Office of Student Accommodations at the institution where you are attending classes.

Computer/Class Resources

Student Access to Temple College Online Systems

Temple College students have access to campus computers, Microsoft Office 365, Library Databases: Student Information Portal, and D2L (Desire2Learn).  For technology assistance with items such as a user name and/or password, difficulty logging into email, a campus computer, or troubleshooting error messages received while trying to access computer resources, please call the ITS Help Desk at 254-298-8450, email at helpdesk@templejc.edu , or visit the 2nd floor of One College Centre.

Temple College has an online service that helps students to discover majors and in-demand careers and education based on your interests.  You can take the career assessment, browse careers, browse programs, search for jobs, and access the resume builder.  Career Coach can be found at https://templejc.emsicc.com/

IT Help Desk

If you have an issue with accessing your Temple College online accounts, the ITS Help Desk is located in the One College Centre (OCC) on the Temple campus. For technology assistance with items such as a user name and/or password, difficulty logging into TConnect, email, a campus computer, or troubleshooting error messages received while trying to access computer resources, please call the ITS Help Desk at 254-298-8450, email us at helpdesk@templejc.edu , or visit us on the 2nd floor of One College Centre.

Tutoring Centers

Temple College is committed to your success, and we have a variety of tutoring resources available if you need help with your classes. Tutoring resources include our Math Lab and Writing Center, as well as individual faculty members who are available each semester for tutoring in a variety of subjects.

Math Tutoring

The Math Lab offers free tutoring to all Temple College students taking math classes. In person tutoring is available on a walk-in-basis.

Writing Tutoring

The Writing Center is open to all Temple College students working on writing projects. Staff members can offer suggestions on how to improve your writing skills, including proper documentation of sources using APA, MLA or other formats.

Online Tutoring

Tutor.com is a free online tutoring service available to Temple College students 24/7. Extra support is available in more than 150 subject areas. Access to tutor.com is available directly from students’ Desire2Learn (D2L) homepages.
