AS MATH can lead to university transfer for a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics or Mathematics with Teaching Certification in 7-12 Math. AS MATH students interested in these bachelor’s degrees must work with an academic advisor or Mathematics department chair to determine transferrable coursework.

First Semester

Meet with academic advisor or department chair to obtain copy of transfer university degree plan and to determine G.P.A. needed to transfer to desired university.

ENGL 1301 - Composition I 3 credit hours. ¹
MATH 2413 - Calculus I 4 credit hours. ¹
HIST 1301 - United States History I 3 credit hours.
SPCH 1315 - Public Speaking 3 credit hours. ^{2 & 3}
Choose from Life and Physical Sciences core 3-4 credit hours. ²

Second Semester

Schedule a campus tour with the transfer university.

ENGL 1302 - Composition II 3 credit hours.
HIST 1302 - United States History II 3 credit hours.
MATH 2414 - Calculus II 4 credit hours. ¹
Choose from Life and Physical Sciences core 3-4 credit hours. ²

Third Semester

Confirm courses for completion of AS degree. Start applying for admission to transfer university and send first official transcript to transfer university.

GOVT 2305 - Federal Government (Federal Constitution and Topics) 3 credit hours.
MATH 2415 - Calculus III 4 credit hours.
Choose from Social & Behavioral Sciences 3 credit hours. ^{2 & 5}
PHYS 1401 - College Physics I 4 credit hours. ² or
PHYS 2425 - University Physics I 4 credit hours. ² or
or course for Minor 4 credit hours.²

Fourth Semester

Apply for graduation for AS in Mathematics. Confirm admission to transfer university, and send final official transcript to transfer university at end of semester.

GOVT 2306 - Texas Government (Texas Constitution and Topics) 3 credit hours.
MATH 2320 - Differential Equations 3 credit hours. ^{2 & 4}
Choose from Language, Philosophy & Culture Core 3 credit hours.^{2 & 5}
PHYS 1402 - College Physics II 4 credit hours. ² or
PHYS 2426 - University Physics II 4 credit hours. ² or
or course for Minor 4 credit hours.^{2
