LMGT 1323 - Domestic & International Transportation Management

An overview of the principles and practices of transportation and its role in the distribution process. Emphasis on the physical transportation systems involved in the United States as well as on global distribution systems. Topics include carrier responsibilities and services, freight classifications, rates, tariffs, and public policy and regulations. Also includes logistical geography and the development of skills to solve logistical transportation problems and issues.
Additional Fees: $30 lab fee for consumables
Measurable Learning Outcomes:
Discuss principles and practices of the physical transportation system as they pertain to distribution; interpret U.S. and global distribution trends, public policy, and regulations; implement decisions based on logistical and transportation issues and problems; describe U.S. and world geography and how they impact transportation logistics; and solve transportation problems.
