MATH 2412 - Pre-Calculus Math

Prerequisites: Math 1314 or MATH 1414-College Algebra STEM with a grade of C or higher in either
or Score of 61 or better on ALEKS PPL Placement Test
or Grade of B or higher on High School Transcript for Precalculus

In-depth combined study of algebra, trigonometry, and other topics for calculus readiness.
Additional Fees: $15 Lab Fee, $111.64 Online textbook and Access Code. NOTE: Some sections of this course will not utilize the Access Fee.
Measurable Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will:
1. Demonstrate and apply knowledge of properties of functions.
2. Recognize and apply algebraic and transcendental functions and solve related equations.
3. Apply graphing techniques to algebraic and transcendental functions.
4. Compute the values of trigonometric functions for key angles in all quadrants of the unit circle measured in both degrees and radians.
5. Prove trigonometric identities.
6. Solve right and oblique triangles.
Notes:
Any student enrolled in a mathematics course at Temple College will be eligible to attend a mathematics lab. The main campus lab will be open at least 20 hours each week and will be staffed by the lab director, regular math faculty members and peer tutors. Labs in Hutto and Taylor will be open a limited number of hours as posted at those facilities. Hours vary each semester. Check with center directors for available tutoring on at the Hutto and Taylor locations.
