ARTS 2346 - Ceramics I 3 credit hours. 2 lecture hours. 4 lab hours. An introductory studio course in basic ceramic processes: hand building, throwing, decorating, and firing techniques. Additional Fees: Special Material Fee $40. Measurable Learning Outcomes: 1.Hand-build a complex, medium-sized form successfully both technically and aesthetically.
2.Throw an even-walled, 6-inch cylinder on the potter’s wheel successfully both technically and aesthetically.
3.Treat the surface of a ceramic object successfully and aesthetically with glaze. Notes: Please see AA in Art for guidance when enrolling in art classes.
