DRAM 1310 - Introduction to Theater

A general survey of all phases of theater with emphasis on the various types and styles of plays, elementary theory, introduction to acting and directing, and introduction to technical production. Designed as a theater appreciation course for the non-drama major and an introduction to theater activities for the drama major.

Measurable Learning Outcomes:
  1. Identify the basic elements of theatre.
  2. Compare popular entertainment to art.
  3. Acquire, evaluate, and organize data to aid in critical evaluation of the aesthetics and semiotics of the theatre.
